Too Much on Your Plate

It’s good to be involved. It’s good to be in a friend group. It’s good to volunteer occasionally. It’s good to have an active lifestyle. It’s not good to have too much on your plate.

For many of us, sitting at home on a Friday night sounds pretty boring. We want to go out, hang out with friends, and have fun. But what leads up to Friday night. Maybe Monday you had a late meeting. Tuesday, you had an interview. Wednesday, you have a get together with you friends. Thursday, you go volunteer somewhere. By Friday, you’re exhausted. You haven’t had one night alone. If your week sounds like this, you might have too much on your plate.

Stress is a killer. When you can’t physically focus on one subject, something is wrong. You need to realize that, even though having an active lifestyle might be important to you, it may not be healthy for you. Stress can cause an increased risk of heart attacks, headaches, insomnia, increased depression, and so much more. While you might be involved in the social world, you aren’t being involved in your own personal world. Take time to be alone and clear your thoughts. Come up withย a strategyย so that you can balance your social/work life and your personal life.

Don’t stress about fitting in somewhere, keep the balance. Balance your social life and personal life, and keep a close eye on your personal life. If you feel as if you might be doing too much, you probably are. Take a break. Keep your mind and body healthy.
