According to a new report, the United States’ obesity epidemic is getting worse.
The report found that close to 40% of the United States’ population meet the criteria for obesity. In times like this, especially with that staggering number, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and discouraged, but we have to stay strong. If you’re struggling with obesity, you have to remember, that you’re more than just a number, and that you can even get out of being a number.
Have a positive mind. If you think that you will always be obese and there’s no solution, then you’re already destined to fail. In your day, focus on the good things that happen, not the bad. If you aren’t given the promotion you wanted, focus on the experience you earned by just applying. If you slipped up on your diet, focus on what you did to improve your health that day (took the stairs, walked to work, etc.). A bunch of small happy thoughts add up to be one big thing: a positive mind.
Focus on the present and determine yourself. Don’t focus on what could happen, focus on what is happening. Don’t worry about obesity, work now to prevent it. Determine yourself in the moment. Make changes that will affect your future now. Don’t get caught up in the future and the past, catch up now. Apply your mind and yourself to the task at hand-making changes.
