Plant Corn, Get Corn

This is your rebirth!

I would be remiss not to take a minute to Buzz about the overwhelming reminder we’re having this week of our capacity for rebirth. Call it freedom from slavery, call it resurrection, call it the blooming of flowers after this looooooooooong hard winter – the message of our strength to overcome is everywhere.

We can most certainly understand enslavement and rebirth, right Buddies? Our issues with food and weight have held us hostage in some way or another. They’ve kept us from living our very best lives. And we are on the path to working on freeing ourselves from this bondage. And OF COURSE that’s doesn’t always look like sunshine and rainbows, no story of success ever does. But, can you take a moment and appreciate your bravery for wanting to change?

Buddies, we are all at different parts of the journey – that’s for sure. Even if you’re simply at the first step – even if you’re a Buzz reader or a Buzz watcher (tonight at 8:30!) considering what to do next, you’re aware of the impact your food and weight issues have on your life. You want something different. That’s amazing in and of itself. It’s a jumping off point.

Seriously. So many people are hopeless in the dark, and you have a little ray of hope, a little seed in your soul telling you that a better life exists. Let’s take a moment today to celebrate and water that little seed, shall we?

And for those of you who are knee deep in the process of recovery: a huuuuuuuge “WOW” and “YOU ROCK” and another dose of “WOW.” #rockstars

We can talk all the ding dong day about what we aren’t doing, what we can be doing better, what kinds of self-deception we are living in – and that is important – it helps to shine the light on where we need to go. Today let’s celebrate your desire to want to break free of this bondage. Let’s celebrate your courage in wanting to change.

Take a minute on this beautiful spring day to congratulate yourself for the Buddy you are and the Buddy you are becoming. We say at Beacon that something is always better than nothing, and that something leads us to everything. We can so easily forget our own strength and capacity for change. And you Beacon Buddies are just about the strongest and bravest people around. This I know for sure. Do you?

When you plant corn, you get corn: How about taking a moment to plant some celebration of your awesomeness in your life in the name of even more awesomeness? Can you take a minute today to have a celebration of the steps you’ve taken to find freedom? Can you take minute to think of where these steps may take you in the future? What you may want to do next? Who it is you want to become? When we can focus on our good and our strength, and our amazing capability, we can make more of it.  And we need that for our recovery and our world.

I’m enormously grateful for you Buddies each and every day – you inspire me with alllllll that you are. #truth
